Class 47 47001 at what could be Crewe Heritage Centre.
As D 1521, the second built of the class, she had what was probably the first serious incident for the class. She ran off the slow road in 1964 near Sandy in Beds completely blocking the ECML. Badly damaged but repaired she was finally withdrawn in 1984. After spending several years almost being preserved she was broken up by C F Booth of Rotherham in 1994.
She carried the name City of Bristol unofficially from 1975 to 1981.
