Regarding the nameplate, apparently during its service with BR this locomotive ran on various occassions with either black or red nameplate backgrounds. In April 2009, while it was being prepared for main line runs, those involved could not agree on whether to use those with black or red backgrounds, so in the end they decided to have one of each! Of course both cannot be seen at the same time. It would be interesting to know whether "odd" nameplates are still being carried. Do any visitors to this site know?
