Designed by V.I. Lopushinskiy for service on the Vladikavkazskaya railway. This example was built in 1935 by the Kharkov locomotive plant as part of the E series, the m denoting a modernised version. They were superheated, with a power rating of 1400 hp.
Driving wheel diameter: 1320 mm, Maximum speed: 65 km/h, Length: 20.5 m, Weight: 82 tonnes.
Tender fuel oil capacity: 16 tonnes, Water capacity: 23 tonnes.
In all, almost 12,000 of these E type steam locomotives were built between 1912 and 1957, and remained in operation up to the 1980s.
