76 at Guide Bridge
With the mills of Guide Bridge as a backdrop BR Class 76 No.76043 restarts from a signal stop at Guide Bridge East Junction with a train of Yorkshire coal for Fiddlers Ferry Power Station in July 1979. The electric loco has come from Pennistone via Woodhead and will take the train as far as Ashburys where a diesel, usually a BR class 40 or 47, will take the train on to Warrington. The lines curving away to the right are for Stalybridge.
