LE 4700 for the Portuguese Railways
As the world’s first TSI-crashworthy broad-gauge locomotive, the LE 4700 marks another milestone in the development of the Eurosprinter platform. All 15 of the single-system locomotives ordered will use their 4,600 kW of power to haul passenger and freight trains on Portugal's broad-gauge network. A newly developed bogie will facilitate future conversion to the European standard gauge.
