While waiting for a train to London Waterloo heard the familiar sound of a Class 73 just had time to spin round and take a snap,this was on the down Sth London Metro line towards Balham 20.1.14

Class 73/2 no. 73201, named 'Broadlands' on 21 May 2009 during the Eastleigh Works centenary, formerly E6049 and 73142.
The epithet "Shoebox" presumably came about because of the narrow box-like body, which allowed use all over the Southern Region network including through the narrow tunnels on the Hastings Line.
