KiwiRail DL+DFT+DC near Wellington - NZ

The loco lash up in this scene represents decades of motive power in New Zealand. The DL class is the first Chinese built diesel exported to a western railroad. DFT 7158 started life in 1979 and was upgraded with turbo to 2400Hp while the DC was rebult from DA class EMD G12 introduced in 1955. Train 221 from Westfield is ascending the 1 in 50 between Paekakariki and Pukerua Bay north of Wellington.
