LMS Ivatt Class 2MT 2-6-2T 41241
Photographed outside the KWVR loco shed at Haworth on 13 December 2012.
Built at Crewe in September 1949, withdrawn in December 1966.
This design formed the basis for the BR standard class 2 2-6-2T (numbers 84000–29), which were built to a slightly smaller loading gauge and so have slanted cab sides. These engines also incorporate a fallplate and fittings common to many BR standard classes, such as the chimneys.
41241 is the only survivor that is currently in running order; the others are 41298, 41312 and 41313.
