NER Class J21 65033
Class J21 is something of a survivor. 65033 was built as long ago as 1889 as a compound. It was rebuilt as a simple in the early part of the 20th century and survived until 1939 when it was withdrawn. With war looming and there being a shortage of locos, it was given an overhaul and worked until 1962, when it was withdrawn, being the last of 201 locomotives. It then was stored at Darlington, until rescued and restored to working order until 1984. It has not worked since. Seen at the Doncaster 150 in July 2003.
