Closed Campsie Branchline Station

This autumn scene is of Milton of Campsie Station which was closed to passengers around 1951 but as you can see , it's still wholly in-situ albeit looking every inch it's age. The over road bridge has been bolstered by concrete and tubing to take the weight of modern traffic above. This redundant line is great for leisure persutes and was renamed 'The Strathkelvin Walkway' several years ago. Murmerings of a re-opening are just that...muted!!
