Now bought by Class 56 Locomotives Ltd. from European Metal Recycling and will remain in preservation at Barrow Hill. This was the first BR Type 5 freight locomotive to enter revenue-earning service, in February 1977.
It was named "Ferrybridge 'C' Power Station" in 1995. When withdrawn on December 1, 2003, EWS offered this locomotive to the National Collection but it was turned down.

Added by Peter Langsdale on 16 December 2012.
Wonder why the NRM turned it down? Given the Locos obvious Historic significance. They dont seem to like Modern Traction much there do they?
