73119 at Eastleigh
Class 73 electro-diesel 73119 at the Eastleigh Works Centenary Celebrations.
73's have two separate engines, electric, working of a third rail system, and a less powerful diesel unit.
The lack of power of the diesel meant that they rarely stayed from Southern lines.
2 of the survivors have been converted to haul a Eurostar unit.
73119 is at Eastleigh being prepared for mainline work.
